Today on the radio I heard CKNW 980 am, a BC radio station discussing the grizzly hunt debate again. I have to Applaud Mike Smith from the Province news who made some very educated points and respected bear hunters rights to hunt grizzly bears. He had some humane society bleeding heart crying about the morality of trophy hunting. Meanwhile he was ignoring the scientific facts that hunting improves the quality and health of the herd and that grizzly bear numbers are flourishing.

Mike had a member of the BC guide association http://www.goabc.org/ on to talk about the benefits of keeping the grizzly hunt alive. He said that hunting brings the province of BC 350 million dollars annually in the typically low seasons to rural areas of BC. He also said that a very small percentage, less than 6% of grizzlys are harvested and the herd is on the rise, there is more than ever!

I was very impressed that CKNW had some common sense on this issue, thanks Mike Smith!
