Camera Land’s Minox Riflescope Open Box Blowout Sale

Uncompromising Value – The MINOX ZA3 and ZA5 Riflescopes

Deciding which Riflescopes to own can be daunting. Perhaps the single-most important hunting gear you’ll ever purchase, there are dozens of brands from which to choose, each with seemingly endless choices of models at widely varying price points, and each claiming the “best” this or the “most” that.

At MINOX, they’ve simplified the process while distinguishing MINOX Riflescopes from the rest by creating Riflescopes with the features hunters want most. Like special glass from SCHOTT – the legendary German glass pioneer, fully multi-coated lens elements, precise windage and elevation adjustments, up to 5 times magnification zoom ranges, and argon-purged water and fog-proof design – all at surprisingly affordable price points. Plus, MINOX backs each Riflescope with a comprehensive Full Coverage Lifetime Warranty and the heritage of one of Germany’s premier sport optics companies. Alberty Archery Whitetail

A friend of mine sent me a story of a successful archery whitetail deer hunt in Alberta from last fall. It is a great story because it details the hard work and persistance it takes to harvest a great quality trophy. Check it out:

Alberta Hunting Draws Last Day

Today, June 23 2011 is the last day for 2011 that you can purchase and apply for your Alberta hunting draws here: https://www.albertarelm.com/wc.user.Login.page

Alberta has a different system than In British Columbia for their draws. In Alberta you earn priority points which is a good system, so year after year you get closer to obtaining your tag.

As a BC resident I can apply for certain Alberta hunting oppertunities through the host hunter program. I have a friend in Alberta that "sponsors" me so if I go hunting I need to be with him. Having a host hunter allows me to obtain a Wildlift Identification Number in Alberta so I can participate in the draw system.

This year I wanted to apply for antelope, elk, white tail, and mule deer but appearantly there were too many non-residents that purchased draws already as that was the computerized message I got when I tried to purchase the draws. The only draw I was able to purchase was for sheep in the rock mountains. I already have a few priority points for sheep so we will see how this year goes.

BC Limited Entry Hunting Results 2011

Just wanted to let you know in case you did not know already… The 2011 British Columbia Limited Entry Hunting draw has been run and the results are posted online here:

Unfortunately this “hunter’s christmas” I did not get any of my draws which were for: Moose, Deer, Sheep, and Elk. I hope you all had better luck than me. At least in British Columbia there is a lot of oppertunities for hunting open seasons. I will probably head up to the alpine and hunt some mule deer in the early season and then maybe try for some elk and moose later as the season progresses.

Just in time for spring bear hunting season.

Imagine, having the convenience to bring up the field care chapter, or any other reference material from the entire Black Bear Hunting Encyclopedia book and DVD, while you are in the bush hunting with your mobile device?

The Viper PST (Precision Shooting Tactical) 2.5-10x44mm

riflescope boasts features associated with top-tier riflescopes, yet comes in at a street price of

only $599.99

. Matching reticle and turret measurements allow accurate, fast dialing of shots. The one-piece 30mm tube, precision-machined from a single solid block of aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum, offers ample windage and elevation adjustment. Born from an intimate understanding of riflescope design, forward-thinking engineering, and open ears to a market incredibly vocal about what it wants in a riflescope, the Viper PST series delivers the performance and features tactical shooters demand at an economical price.

Optical Features:

  • Optically Indexed Lenses – Delivers optimum image sharpness and brightness with true reticle use for full ranging and holdover from edge to edge because of computer-controlled alignment during construction.
  • XD Lens Elements – Extra-low dispersion (XD) glass enhances resolution, color, and contrast.
  • XR Lens Coatings – Vortex XR proprietary anti-reflection lens coatings increase light transmission with multiple coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces.

Construction Features:

  • 30 mm Tube – Provides greater strength and wider adjustment lattitude as compared to a 1-inch tube.
  • One-Piece Tube – Maximizes alignment for improved accuracy and optimum visual performance as well as strength and waterproofness.
  • Aircraft-Grade Aluminum – Construction from a solid block of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum delivers increased strength and rigidity.
  • Waterproof – O-ring seals prevent moisture, dust, and debris from getting inside the tube for reliable performance in all environments.
  • Fogproof – Filled with argon gas to inhibit internal fogging over a wide range of temperatures.
  • Shockproof – Lenses are locked in place, fore and aft, with machined locking rings to remain in perfect alignment and resist impact.
  • Hard Anodized Finish – Type-3 hard-coat anodization is durable; the low-glare matte helps camouflage the shooter’s position.
  • ArmorTek – Ultra-hard, scratch-resistant coating repels oils and corrosive salts on outer glass surfaces.

Internal Mechanism Design Features:

  • CRS Zero – Stop Customizable Rotational Stop (CRS) prevents dialing more than one rotation below your zero so you don’t lose the zero when dialing large amounts of elevation corrections. Patent pending.
  • Tall Uncapped Turrets – Make range calculation and shooting adjustments fast and accurate with subtension marks that match the reticle .
  • Single Spring Construction – Fully constrains (without over-constraining) the optical system for predictable, improved accuracy throughout the range of elevation adjustment.
  • Glass-etched Reticle – Protected between two layers of glass (not made from wire) for optimum durability and reliability.
  • Illuminated Reticle – Electronic illumination aids in low light visibility of reticle. Battery included.
  • Illumination Control – Can be turned on or off with a single click between each intensity level—allowing access to a preferred illumination setting without having to progress through each intensity level. Positioned at 45 degrees off the left side of the eyepiece for easy adjustment without blocking view of the turret setting or magnification.

Convenience Features:

  • MagView Bar – Combines a fiber optics magnification indicator with raised rear-facing magnification references for clear viewing in low light conditions. Patent pending.
  • Radius Bar – Fiber optic turret rotation indicator provides illuminated and tactile point of reference for turret rotations. Patent pending.
  • Fast Focus Eyepiece – Allows quick and easy reticle focusing.

  • Magnification: 2.5-10 x
