How to apply for the new BC LEH online

Well, with change comes trouble. But I am sure in the long run, the new BC LEH online system will be better than mailing in our cards of past that could be mishandled, lost, or destroyed. I am sure there are a lot of hunters in British Columbia that do not even have computer access ,so this new system will pose problems for them, and I do have empathy for those in that situation. But here is how you get started on the new BC LEH online system:

Step 1: Apply for a BCeID. Which is just an electronic ID to sign in with.
https://www.bceid.ca/register/personal/

You will need to present legal documents/ID like a drivers license at a BCeID Point of Service Office Location.

Once you have chosen your BCeID and password, you can log in here:

BC Limited Entry Hunting Results 2011

Just wanted to let you know in case you did not know already… The 2011 British Columbia Limited Entry Hunting draw has been run and the results are posted online here:

http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/wildlife/hunting/resident/leh.html#Status

Unfortunately this “hunter’s christmas” I did not get any of my draws which were for: Moose, Deer, Sheep, and Elk. I hope you all had better luck than me. At least in British Columbia there is a lot of oppertunities for hunting open seasons. I will probably head up to the alpine and hunt some mule deer in the early season and then maybe try for some elk and moose later as the season progresses.

Just in time for spring bear hunting season.

Bust on Limited Entry Hunting Draws

For the second straight hunting season I got NIL as a result of putting in seven limited entry hunting draws. At least I have a small chance at drawing some tags in Alberta, a very small chance. Luckily I live in British Columbia where there is many general open season oppertunities. I will probably focus September on high country mule deer and elk. Then in October I will tag along my buddy who drew a coveted archery Roosevelt elk draw while I try to tag a blacktail buck. I might try for a spike fork moose somewhere in the interior during October and spend November looking for  rutting mule deer and whitetail bucks. I guess it is not so bad to come up empty handed in the draw when you live in British Columbia as there is ample oppertunity to hunt in the general open season.
